Wheely Willy and Mr. Winkle represent individuals who have risen from the "underdog" position to a hero's stature in life. Both dogs are rescues, starting from dismal circumstances and with physical challenges. Today, the dogs are featured in books, magazines, television and newspapers throughout the world. They both lead happy lives filled with joy, appreciation and an indomitable spirit. Both dogs are active in service to others, making many appearances at hospitals, schools and other institutions. They lead by example the adage that life is what you make of it. The dogs were selected as Grand Marshals for our event because they are inspirational examples of how, when given a second chance, anything is achievable.
